In a pre-clinical model, HEMO-SEAL™ Technology was shown to reduce needle hole leakage rate by 67% compared to the standard PROLENE^® Polypropylene Suture; and by 59% compared to GORE-TEX^® ePTFE Nonabsorbable Monofilament Suture.

How HEMO-SEAL™ Technology works

Tapered suture. 1-to-1 needle-to-suture ratio. HEMO-SEAL™ Technology narrows the PROLENE^® suture at the needle attachment site, which results in the remainder of the suture having a reduced needle-to-suture ratio. This enhanced ratio allows the bulk of the suture to adequately fill the needle hole, leading to a significant reduction in needle hole bleeding.
